What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Work with cross-functional teams (Architects, Developers, QA) in test automation activities across the company
  • Automate and document tests from existing test cases/scenarios and new feature specifications
  • Help investigate, evaluate, select, and integrate best available framework/tool solutions as required for test automation success
  • Appreciate and consider the “big picture” while dealing with implementation details
  • Work to continuously improve test automation concepts and best practices, automation testing strategies, and test case design specifications
  • Contribute to the production of automation templates, examples, and training collateral
  • Manage source code and administer revision control system
  • Manage and administer various other development tools like static code analysis, defect tracking, CI server
  • Virtual Machine deployment (VMware, Amazon)
  • Participate on a Scrum team, including all Agile and Scrum related ceremonies
  • Work with QA team to track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
  • Be meticulous about documentation and maintaining a robust log of all test cases and test results
  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies

We Expect You To Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (Graduate Degree always is a plus)
  • 3+ years working in software development
  • A proven track record of writing and running a variety of tests
  • Analytical thinker with an ability to identify and solve problems in a logical manner
  • Strong work ethic and works well on small teams
  • Desires ownership, accountability, and goals
  • Friendly, outgoing, enjoy working with others and making customers successful
  • Highly adaptable, able to make decisions on incomplete information and manage multiple processes simultaneously
  • A spirit of collaboration and transparent communication
  • A natural curiosity for new scripting languages, frameworks, and technologies
  • High personal code/development standards (peer testing, unit testing, documentation, etc)
  • Ability to prioritize issues quickly, determine next actions while remaining calm in outage situations
  • Experience with object-oriented programming languages and techniques (e.g., Python, JavaScript) – JavaScript preferred
  • Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
  • Experience using version control, preferably Git/GitHub
  • Experience in writing, executing, and monitoring automated test suites using a variety of technologies including, but not limited to, Cypress (preferred), Behave (preferred), Cucumber, Selenium
  • Proficient with bug tracking and test management toolsets to support development processes
  • Strong working knowledge of testing fundamentals such as TDD
  • Experience with Linux operating system variants
  • Working knowledge of virtualization (VMware, Amazon) a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An Agile/Scrum mindset with experience working in Agile environments (e.g., JIRA, Asana)
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
