What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Test newly developed software, features, and record any bugs or performance issues
  • Collect information about software usability
  • Identify critical bottlenecks in development
  • Develop and run effective tests to ensure the product’s stability and performance
  • Document, prioritize, and resolve bugs
  • Complete projects, reviews, and reports as needed
  • Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  • Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities
  • Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source and COTS tools
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly, prioritize, and track bugs
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved and when new features are delivered
  • Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs
  • Liaise with internal teams, (e.g. developers and customer success engineers), to identify system requirements
  • Monitor debugging process results
  • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies

We Expect You To Have:

  • 3+ years working in software development
  • Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Analytical thinker with an ability to identify and solve problems in a logical manner
  • Strong work ethic and works well on small teams
  • Desires ownership, accountability, and goals
  • Friendly, outgoing, enjoy working with others and making customers successful
  • Highly adaptable, able to make decisions on incomplete information and manage multiple processes simultaneously
  • A spirit of collaboration and transparent communication
  • A natural curiosity for new scripting languages, frameworks, and technologies
  • High personal code/development standards (peer testing, unit testing, documentation, etc)
  • Ability to prioritize issues quickly, determine next actions while remaining calm in outage situations
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
  • Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • A proven track record of writing and running a variety of tests, including integration, system, interface, regression, beta/acceptance, load, stress, volume, compatibility, install, reliability, ad-hoc, back-end, boundary-value, usability, compliance, and localization testing
  • Ability to spot flaws and inconsistencies
  • Detail-oriented and ability to analyze complicated data sets
  • Strong propensity for research and investigation
  • Hands-on experience with both white box and black-box testing
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
  • Experience with a project management tool such as JIRA or Asana
  • Experience with a test planning tool such as TestRails is a plus
  • Experience with performance, RESTful API, SQL, and/or security testing is a plus
  • Experience with Linux operating system variants and/or Cygwin
  • Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
