What You’ll Be Doing:

Technical SEO

  • Regularly crawl our websites with Screaming Frog and review Semrush Site Audit errors and warnings, such as broken links, redirect chains, duplicate pages, wrong canonicals, orphan pages and pages wrongly blocked or set to noindex. Confirm each issue on the live page, fix first what affects our commercial pages, and record each site’s Site Health trend. Close warnings that do not matter on our sites with a written reason, instead of fixing them to raise the score.
  • Review Google Search Console for indexing, Core Web Vitals, HTTPS and structured data issues, and fix or escalate each one. For slow pages, use PageSpeed Insights to find the cause, such as oversized images, before raising a ticket.
  • Write clear fix tickets for developers, with the URL, the problem, the expected result and how to test it, then confirm each fix is live.
  • Check key pages on mobile and desktop before and after every website release: titles, canonicals, redirects, robots rules, schema and internal links.
  • Build and check redirect maps for any redesign, migration or URL change.
  • Write and test JSON-LD structured data, such as Organization, Service, Product, SoftwareApplication, Article and BreadcrumbList. Validate it in the Schema Markup Validator, and check Google-supported types in the Rich Results Test. Make sure structured data matches what is visible on the page and follows Google’s structured data guidelines.
  • Maintain robots.txt and XML sitemaps, including which AI crawlers can reach our pages. Know the difference between search crawlers such as OAI-SearchBot, Claude-SearchBot and PerplexityBot, training crawlers such as GPTBot and ClaudeBot, and the Google-Extended token, which is not a crawler and does not control AI Overviews.

Organic Growth and Diagnosis

  • Research keywords and buyer questions for our service, product and industry pages, map each target query to one page, and fix pages that compete for the same query or rank for the wrong intent.
  • Track rankings, traffic and conversions on our commercial pages. When they change, including after Google core updates, combine Search Console, GA4, Semrush and Ahrefs data in Excel, find the likely causes, size the impact and recommend prioritized fixes.
  • Find growth opportunities through competitor and keyword gap analysis and underperforming pages, and bring your own ideas, not just assigned tasks: make the case with data, test the change, and report what worked and what did not.
  • Improve titles, meta descriptions, headings and internal links on service, product and solution pages, working from a ranked change list for each page. Regularly list pages with many impressions and few clicks for their position, check the live results page for the cause, and rewrite a title only when the snippet itself is the problem.
  • Check that forms, demo requests and other key events are tracked correctly in GA4, and raise gaps with the analytics owner.
  • Keep a change log of every SEO change with its date, and measure the effect on traffic, rankings and leads once each change has had time to show results.
  • Each month, prepare the SEO performance data, using AI assistants for drafting, and check every number against Search Console, GA4 or the source tool before it goes in.

AI Search

  • Each month, check how ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews answer a fixed set of buyer questions, asking each question more than once since answers vary, record whether we are mentioned or cited and which competitors appear, and keep the question set, platforms and dates on record so results compare month to month.
  • Review visits from AI assistants in GA4 and the AI Performance report in Bing Webmaster Tools, and confirm our priority pages are indexed in Bing, which Copilot draws on.
  • Turn those findings into page changes: clear answer-first passages, consistent company facts, and structured data that matches the page.

What We Expect You To Have:

  • 3 to 4 years of hands-on SEO experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Search Console, GA4, and Semrush or Ahrefs (both is a plus): you know which report answers which question, how to filter it, and how to turn an export into a clear finding.
  • Experience diagnosing an organic traffic or ranking decline, and what you found.
  • A track record of finding and fixing technical SEO issues, and at least one growth improvement you started yourself, with the result in numbers.
  • Practical experience adding structured data (schema.org) and checking it with Google’s tools.
  • Basic HTML: you can read page source and spot SEO problems in it.
  • A working understanding of how AI assistants find and cite content (often called AEO or GEO).
  • Comfort using AI assistants such as Claude or ChatGPT in daily SEO work, and the discipline to check their output against real data before acting on it.
  • The ability to explain findings clearly to developers and non-SEO colleagues.

Tools and How You Will Use Them:

  • Google Search Console: Performance report with filters and regex, Page indexing, URL Inspection, Core Web Vitals and Sitemaps reports.
  • GA4: organic landing page reports, key events, Explorations, and comparing organic search with other channels, including visits from AI assistants.
  • Semrush: Site Audit, Position Tracking, Organic Rankings and Keyword Gap.
  • Ahrefs: Site Explorer and Keywords Explorer.
  • Screaming Frog: full site crawls, list mode for release checks, and custom extraction.
  • Bing Webmaster Tools: URL Inspection and the AI Performance report.
  • Testing tools: Schema Markup Validator, Google’s Rich Results Test, PageSpeed Insights and Chrome DevTools.

Good To Have:

  • Working knowledge of Google Tag Manager, Looker Studio and WordPress.
  • An example of a change you made for AI search visibility and what happened.
  • Experience with B2B services, SaaS or technology websites.
  • Exposure to BPO, customer experience or AI software.
  • Experience with website migrations.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Graduate in any discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Examples of past SEO work. Results matter more than certificates.

How Success Is Measured:

You will receive clear goals, with regular check-ins. Goals cover work within your control, for example:

  • Technical issues on priority pages found, fixed and verified.
  • Changes in organic traffic or rankings investigated, with likely causes and a recommended fix.
  • Growth ideas proposed, tested and measured, including ones that did not work.
  • Progress toward agreed targets for non-branded visibility, qualified organic traffic and conversions on your assigned pages, with targets set after a baseline.
  • Valid structured data live on priority commercial pages.
  • A monthly AI search visibility check running for each of our brands.
  • Accurate monthly performance data, delivered on time for the SEO team’s report.
