What You’ll Be Doing:
- Distributes information on and explains benefit programs such as health, life, disability (short & Long Term), 401K, leave of absences & employee change forms procedures and processes.
- Investigates and resolves questions regarding leave of absences & employee change forms.
- Reviews reports on leave of absences and employee change form.
- Enters benefits-related data into computerized human resources information system that pertains to leave of absences and employee change forms.
- Maintains files of documentation such as enrollment, leave of absence, Cobra.
- Distributes information about FMLA, STD that pertain to leave of absences & wellness programs.
What We Expect You To Have:
Basic Knowledge of:
- Government insurance regulations which include COBRA, FMLA and HIPAA;
Company policies and procedures as outlined in our employee handbook; - Computer programs including -Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Ability to:
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees.
- Prioritize and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Prioritize daily duties.
- Reading and interpreting spreadsheets.
- Manage irate employees and defuse volatile situations.
- Use good judgment in handling sensitive information and exercising high degree of confidentiality.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from 2 year college or technical school.
- Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of related experience and/or training.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions,and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Valid driver’s license or other governmental issued identification.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Regular verbal communication (speaking and listening) is required.
- Prolonged sitting and manual tasks (using hands) are expected.
- Occasional reaching and lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.
- Close vision required for detailed work.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Indoor office setting with moderate noise levels.
